Van She are one of my favourite Australian bands. I was lucky enough to see them live (albeit a Van She Technologic DJ Set) at Ink & Coherent earlier this year, it was a good night. My friend Tony would be able to tell you allllll about it... Oh no, wait... He wouldn't.
Anyway, back to the point. Van She (the band) were recently commissioned by Bacardi to record a cover of the 1976 Blue Oyster Cult classic 'Don't Fear The Reaper' (you know this song, even if you think you don't. I think that's what 'classic' means).

Van She have taken the original for a swim, purposefully drowned it, dragged it back to shore, performed elaborate (verging on indecent assault) C.P.R, and revived the 70's hit kicking and screaming for 2009. It is one of the most impressive covers I have ever heard. Van She have successfully taken a classic rock & roll song, dropped the tempo, sexed it up and created an airy electro reinterpretation staying true to their own sound.
